Become a contact person

Anyone who is a PAM member can become a contact person. Unlike shop stewards and occupational health representatives, a contact person is not elected to represent employees; it's enough to inform PAM about your wish to become one.

Literally, a contact person is the link between a workplace and the union. Contact persons receive actual and useful information that concerns themselves and their colleagues.

The duties of a contact person:

  • informing the workplace and colleagues about PAM
  • ordering various materials to the workplace about PAM
  • holding contact with PAM and informing about any special situations at the workplace
  • assisting the shop steward
  • participating in training sessions and other events, if the contact person so wishes.

A contact person has an important role at the workplace, because she/he greets the new colleagues, hands out material for joining the union and discusses union issues with the employees. In addition, a contact person also assists the shop steward at the workplace. PAM arranges events for contact persons on a yearly basis.

However, the tasks of the contact person do not involve negotiating in conflict situations at the workplace or giving advice on the application of the collective agreement.

Are you interested? You can register as a contact person by filling in the electronic form.

Print out a brochure here. The brochure can also be given forward.
