Your local branch
You are a member of a trade union branch too
When joining Service Union United PAM, every member also joins a trade union branch. Trade union branches are independent associations that form a union (PAM). The union branch activities are defined by the Associations Act, and the branch itself is led by the executive committee.
The branches represent their members in the union; they make motions, influence the living and working conditions of workers in the service sectors and offer services to their members. You can find the number of your own trade union branch on your membership card or by checking your personal information.
With the help of your trade union branch, you can:
-
make motions to e.g. improve the collective agreement;
-
participate in training events and other leisure-time activities;
-
take part in activities at your own workplace;
-
make suggestions and take part in the planning of union branch activities;
-
influence the entire society around you (e.g. by making propositions to develop legislation on working life).
The executive committee of a trade union branch has the decision-making power, so get involved! PAM has altogether 208 trade union branches. They are classified on our Finnish web pages according to region.
