Unemployment Fund 



If you work in the private service sector, you can insure yourself in case of unemployment in the Unemployment Fund of PAM. The Unemployment Fund pays earnings-related unemployment allowance to its unemployed members during periods of unemployment.

If you become unemployed  

You are entitled to earnings-related daily unemployment allowance if you

  1. are 17-64 years old;
  2. are unemployed but capable of working;
  3. have been a member of the unemployment fund for 8 months (34 weeks) prior to unemployment;
  4. have fulfilled the employment clause while you have been a member. The clause is fulfilled if you have worked for at least 34 weeks during the two years and four months prior to your unemployment. All working weeks of over 18 working hours, which have taken place while you have been a member, are accepted as working weeks.  Wages must be in accordance with the collective agreement;
  5. have registered as a job seeker at the employment office.

Earnings-related daily allowances is paid for a maximum of 500 days, 5 days a week. The qualifying period for the benefit corresponds to 7 full working days. The amount of your earnings-related daily allowance depends on the wages you received for the working weeks that fulfilled the employment clause.  

 

What to do if you become unemployed

  1. Register as a job seeker at the employment office on your first day of unemployment.
  2. Fill in the application form. These forms are available at the employment office as well as  online.
  3. Make sure you have the necessary attachments  for the application, such as your payslip.
  4. Send the application to the unemployment fund.

Please fill in the application carefully.

Fill the first application for a period of at least 2 weeks.

Send the application to the unemployment fund no later than 3 months from the beginning of your unemployment. The application is always sent afterwards, in other words, no earlier than the last day of the period in question.

 

What attachments do you need?

The first application must have a payslip attached for the working weeks (34 weeks)  that fulfil the employment clause. The payslip must include

  • the name and contact information of the employer
  • start and end dates of the employment
  • taxable wages earned
  • holiday pay and holiday compensation
  • all unpaid periods.

After the first application, you can apply for daily allowance in periods of 4 weeks or a month. A continued application can be sent on the last day of the period in question.

Unemployment fund online service

The fund covers all costs of electronic transactions, so the use of online services is totally free of charge for members. It is possible to access the service from any computer with an Internet connection.

 

The fund’s online service will enable you to:

  1. Send the fund a continued application for earnings-related daily allowance if you are completely unemployed and have received daily allowance earlier. It must be less than 3 months since the last day you received allowance for.
  2. Check how the processing of your application is proceeding.
  3. Subscribe to notifications of daily allowance payments to your mobile phone.
  4. Browse and change your personal data.
  5. Send messages to the person who processes your application.
