Service Union United PAM is the trade union for people working in private service sectors. PAM’s 230,000 members include shop assistants, cleaners, security guards, hairdressers, warehouse workers, managers, cooks, waiters and waitresses, and cinema and ski resort workers. There are lots of private service sectors!

Join PAM if you work in a private service sector, such as:

  • retail trade
  • tourism, restaurant and leisure services
  • hairdressing
  • cleaning services
  • property services
  • security services

You can join PAM if you are currently in paid employment. Unemployed people or those currently on an unpaid period cannot join the Union or the Unemployment Fund. Unpaid periods include unpaid maternity, paternity and parental leave, periods on national sickness and unemployment allowance paid by the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela), national military service, or full-time studies (in this case, however, you can join as a student member), etc.

PAM negotiates collective agreements and pay levels, while safeguarding its members’ interests in the world of work. As a member, you’ll stand up for your rights and influence the terms and conditions of employment in your own sector.

100% worth it!
