Training - 01.04.2019 klo 11.00

Training that meets the activation condition available to PAM members

As of 1 April 2019 you can accumulate activity from services other than those organised by the employment services. PAM offers its unemployed members employment-promoting courses.

Activity is sufficient if participation in employment-promoting services lasts at least 5 days during a monitoring period. As well as employment-promoting services you can demonstrate activity by paid employment, self-employment or studying.

As a PAM member you can study on a Skilled jobseeker online course from 1 April anywhere and anytime. The training is in Finnish. Skilled jobseeker courses are in practice employment-promoting independent study in an online learning environment. On the course you can develop your job searching skills and upgrade your job search documents. You will get advice on areas including making your own video cv and tips on how to use different job search channels.

You can apply in Finnish for the Skilled jobseeker online course from 1 April here. The courses are online on the PAM Career service and everything you need to do the courses can be found there.

In a number of locations PAM is also organising a 5-day Jobseeker’s digital skills course. The training is in Finnish. The aim of the Jobseeker’s digital skills course is to refresh and enhance basic digital skills and help with job searching, workplace reintegration and coping at work. A further aim of the course is for each participant to find a path to the workplace that is right for them. The course lasts five days and instruction is from Monday to Friday from 12 to 3.15 p.m. The course is intended for persons living in that location or nearby.

You can apply for the Jobseeker’s digital skills course via the Workers’ Educational Association TSL. Click this link for instructions.
Jobseeker’s digital skills courses are available in the following locations, for example:

  • Kuopio 6–10 May
  • Kouvola 2–6 September
  • Lahti 23–27 September
  • Helsinki 21–25 October

Both courses meet the activity condition of the activation model and prevent cuts being made to unemployment allowance.

For the courses to accumulate activity, the activity monitoring period must start on 1 April or thereafter. If a benefit recipient’s monitoring period begins for example on 26 March 2019, she can only accumulate activity with these courses from the start of the next activity monitoring period. Please note that within the same monitoring period activity must be accumulated either from employment-promoting or supporting activity. Different activities cannot be combined during the same monitoring period (e.g. training and working).
