Membership at the Unemployment Fund
You can join Unemployment Fund of Service Union United PAM if you are an employee and haven't turned 68 yet. You are considered to be an employee when your main source of income is earned from work performed under the terms of an employment relationship.
A member of the PAM Fund may not at the same time be a member of another unemployment fund.
If you join the PAM Unemployment Fund after having resigned from another fund within one month, your period of employment and membership are credited to you at your new Fund.
The Unemployment Fund’s membership fee for 2021 is 132 € (11 €/month).
If you are self-employed/entrepreneur, you can't be a member of the PAM Unemployment Fund. This may be work for a company that you own, freelance work, or work done in a family business. If you work in a family business but don't own part of the company, you are not considered self-employed/entrepreneur according to the Unemployment Security Act.
You can apply for the Unemployment Fund's membership with a written application. If you have you joined the Fund already when joining the Union, you dont need to send a separate application to the Fund.

The members of the Unemployment Fund are eligible to receive earnings-related unemployment allowance as laid down in the Unemployment Security Act and other benefits under the field of activity of the Fund. If you are only a member of the Fund you are not entitled to employment advice, the Union's membership card, PAM magazine or any other services or benefits from the Union.
