PAM’s Executive Committee selected the members of the Forum based on applications. There were 64 applicants in total, of whom 18 were women and 46 were men. Most applicants came from the restaurant and the property services sectors. In the selection, emphasis was placed on members who are in employment and on active members from the Forum’s first term. The aim was also to ensure balanced representation between new active members and those already in positions of trust, as well as between genders. Members were selected from all PAM regions. Most of those selected are from the Helsinki–Uusimaa region, where the majority of PAM’s immigrant members live. PAM established a forum for immigrant members in spring 2025. The Forum brings the perspective of workers who have moved to Finland into the union’s decision-making and to develop activities. It also serves as a channel for civic participation: members of the forum receive training on how to influence within the union and in society. During 2026, the forum will focus in particular on supporting regional PAM Networks and on organising immigrant workers.
