Strike pay

PAM’s Executive Committee decides the amount of strike pay paid to striking members of PAM and other trade unions for each strike.

You get strike pay if you have joined PAM no later than the first day of a strike at your workplace. You can join using the online form or by calling  030 100 630  (weekdays from 10-14). 

Strike pay for optical sector strike 21-22 March 2024

Members of PAM working in the optical sector companies will receive strike pay of 100 euros (66.40 euros net) per day of strike, for which there has been a loss of earnings.

You can apply for strike pay starting on 22 March. Strike pay is applied for on the same form for both days of the strike.


Applying for strike pay for SeriousGrounds strikes 11-24 March

Apply for SeriousGrounds strike pay for the strikes 11-24 March through a separate application form. You can get the link from your union representative (luottamusmies) or by sending an e-mail to lakko@pam.fi. State that you are part of the strike and leave your contact details (name, phone number, company you work for, and the location from which you are striking).

  • Strike pay is paid to members of PAM and other trade unions participating in a strike who do work covered by the strike at a strike location. Strike pay is for paying union members only, not student or pensioner members.  NOTE! YTK is not a trade union, therefore YTK members cannot apply for strike pay. 
  • You are entitled to strike pay when you have joined PAM no later than on the first day of a strike. You can join using the online membership form or by calling 030 100 630.
  • Strike pay is paid to members who would have had a shift of at least 4 hours at the time of the strike and who suffer loss of earnings as a result. 
  • Strike pay is claimed using the electronic form above. 

The amount of the strike pay is decided separately for each strike.

Strike pay is always paid for a strike day for which there has been loss of earnings. Strike pay is tax-free up to €16, after which tax is withheld. 

Strike pay is usually paid out within two weeks after you have completed the form. 

You don’t need to register for the strike in advance. Applying for strike pay is confirmation that you took part in the strike. 

You can apply for strike pay beginning on the day of the strike using an online form to be published on this site. Please send your application as soon as possible.

You need the following information to fill in the strike pay form: 
•    your personal identity code 
•    your address 
•    your account number (in IBAN form) 
•    your workplace details. 

You don’t need to send your tax card to PAM. Strike pay is paid for the day of the strike.
