Holiday bonus is a bonus for employees laid down in collective agreements. In Finnish two terms are used – ‘lomaraha’ or ‘lomaltapaluuraha’. The word used depends on the collective agreement.
This bonus is 50 % of the holiday pay for the holiday earned in accordance with the Annual Holidays Act (2 or 2.5 days per month – max. 30 days).
A prerequisite for paying holiday bonus is normally that the holiday is begun on the agreed or notified day, and that the employee returns to work immediately after the holiday.
