Become a PAM Networks Leader Do you want to learn more about working life and labour rights? Are you willing to roll up your sleeves to help immigrant workers? Apply to become PAM Networks Leader by 1 March 2026! PAM is looking for 15-20 members to volunteer as PAM Network Leaders, to spread awareness of labour rights and unions to immigrant workers. – Raising awareness and organising among immigrant workers is important to make working life better for everyone, says Organisational Affairs Specialist at PAM Heta Hedman. PAM Networks Leaders also have an important role in sharing immigrant workers’ ideas and concerns with PAM. The group (formerly known as Impact Forum) is a link between the local PAM Networks for immigrants and PAM’s offices and governing bodies. – We hope to form a group of members, women and men, from different parts of Finland, with different occupations and cultural backgrounds, but who share the motivation to make working life better for everyone, says Hedman. What are PAM networks? PAM Networks are a platform for immigrants working and studying in sectors covered by PAM for spreading knowledge and awareness about working life in Finland. Currently, there are local networks in 10 cities. Read more Learning, sharing and engaging others The PAM Network Leaders will meet four times a year in Helsinki, and get to put their knowledge and skills to use in their local networks and communities. The meetings will be held in English, and each meeting will last two working days. The meetings will include discussions, lectures, training and groupwork, and possibly also study visits to relevant organisations and institutions. PAM will pay for train tickets, hotel, and potential loss of salary for meeting days. Opportunity for personal and professional growth The role of PAM Networks Leader offers opportunities for personal and professional growth. – It’s a great way to gain deeper understanding of Finnish working life and the role of unions, learn to influence social issues, and to develop your organising and networking skills, and of course to meet likeminded people. Who can apply and how You can apply if: You are a PAM member. You want to learn more about labour rights, organising and influencing society. You want share information about workers’ rights and PAM to immigrant workers. You want to bring the perspective of migrant’s to PAM’s governing bodies. You are willing to contribute to local PAM Network and other events. You can commit for at least this year, with possible extension until the end of 2027. You do not need to have previous experience or speak Finnish, but motivation is a must. PAM staff will provide training and support in English. Fill in the application form by 1 March 2026 PAM Neworks Leaders will be selected in March 2026 and confirmed by the PAM Executive Committee. Applicants will be notified personally.
